I often invoke the concept of the seven main chakras in my Reiki practice, along with two other chakras that may not be talked about much in other systems but I consider very important; the Earth Star and the Soul Star Chakras.
The Earth Star chakra is an expanded version of the root chakra, in that it anchors all of you, including your aura, your entire chakra system, your ego, your physical body and your soul into the Earth. The location is about 6 inches to a foot below your feet. The Earth Star chakra is what connects you to the cord that leads you to Gaia, Mother Earth. It is the gateway chakra that pulls in the earthly qualities of grounding, stability, nourishment, structure and strength.
It is here at the Earth Star Chakra that gives you the nourishment and strength to be here on this plane in the physical form. When I am feeling out of sorts and insecure, I focus here to help me remember my earthly divinity.
To connect with your Earth Star Chakra, sit upright comfortably, with the crown of your head directly over the base of your spine. Close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths, slowing down your inhales and extending your exhales. Invite a sense of relaxation and softness into your entire being. Allow your awareness to travel to the bottoms of your feet, to your foot chakras. Visualize a small lotus opening at the bottoms of each foot. Allow your awareness to travel about 6 inches to a foot beneath your feet and see a beautiful ball of white light and observe sensations and impressions, with a focus on the qualities of the Earth and Gaia.
